I’ve biked the Schattberg for years now and often I thought – why is there no trail down that hill. For a long time, there was only the gravel road between the Hackeberg Alm and Hintergelmm. Times have changed – 2012 opended the Bergstadl trail – it was worth waiting.
Can you think of your perfect mountain bike trail in Saalbach Hintergelmm? It should have roots, rocks, narrow turns and you should have to be an experienced rider in order to have fun on it. There you go – the Bergstadl trail ist he more technical alternative to the Hackelberg trail.
300 meter down the Hackelberg Trail to the Hackelberg Alm the Bergstadl trails turns off and takes you to a wonderful area for biking and action. In various turns and curves the Bergstadl trail has a huge number of technical spots, which make the trails perfecct for experienced trail bikers but not so wonderful für beginners.
There are no man made obstacles on the Bergstadl trail – it is exactly like nature wanted it and like hikers formed it over years. Hikers use the Bergstadl trail as well – it does not belong to bikers – so show respect to hikers and families. See them as priority users.
Have fun on the Bergstadl trail – my favorite trails in Saalbach Hinterglemm and the wonderland for every ambitious trail rider.
