Alpine skier & on-piste-racer

Hundreds of piste-kilometers lie at you feet - ski resort Saalbach Hinterglemm Leogang Fieberbrunn

As soon as summer turns into fall and the shadows get longer, it is time for you to get nervous. When the leaves start falling from the trees and the first centimeters of snow are reaching the mountain peaks, nothing can stop you. Over the next couple of months all you will be thinking about are sharp edges, layers of wax and the perfect carving-turn.

Real on-piste-experts know them all

Sounds like you are a real passionate skier, right? You know them all, the big ski resorts between Arlberg, Sölden and Schladming-Dachstein. The huge resorts overseas, famous names like Vail, Beaver Creek or Aspen, you've been there all - BUT do you know TirolS?

Two countries - one new ski lift - the biggest ski resort of all

We don't think so, the biggest connected ski resort in Austria is just about to be finished and be opened in the season 2015/2016. You better check it out soon, because the new ski-connection between Salzburg and Tirol is the best, a real ski expert should ski on. You can show what real skiing is on more than 270 kilometers of slopes. Show off what you can on your skis or snowboard. Not much time for relaxing, the high-end-ski-lifts bring you up again on top of the mountains quite quickly and the fun begins again.

This is your on-piste-skiing-equipment

  • Carving skis with a good radius - depending on your skiing style
  • Small radius for narrow turns, big radius for fast GS-turns
  • Stiffness and flex of your ski boots depend on your skills
  • Experts take stiff boots (Flex up to 130) - beginners take 100 - 110
  • Cool style with your outfit: fresh colors, loose fit and cut
  • The Ski helmet is part of your equipment - not question
  • Goggles or sunglasses protect against wind and sun

You shouldn`t miss those highlights

Start off in the morning - right after a long and good breakfast at the Hotel Talblick. In the morning, you do best if you check out the sunny side of the valley. The nice slopes of the Reiterkogel, Hochalm & Co. are already in the sun and offer great slope conditioins. On the blue and red slopes you can warm up perfectly and get yourself ready for a long and amazing day of skiing.

A bit more power?

As soon as you get warm and you are ready for more, change the valley-side and check out the red and black slopes on the Schattberg and the Zwölferkogel. The downhill from the Schattberg is long and exhausting - you are lucky, that there are a few huts and stops along the way down the mountain. The slope from the Zwölferkogel is very famous among worldcup-fans - you can also ski down there. It you want it really steep, try the north-slope from the Zwölferkogel, it is the steepest slope you can find in Saalbach Hinterglemm. It you prefer some powder, try to find some untouched deep-snow in the Seekar or on the Hochalm.
